Burghley House

 Burghley near Stamford is one of the largest and grandest surviving houses of the sixteenth century. It was conceived by William Cecil, Lord High Treasurer to Queen Elizabeth I, the most powerful courtier of the first Elizabethan age. The park was laid out by Capability Brown.

Also has a gift shop and café. Look out for the garden of surprises!
